The Fleet Service Technician is responsible for Preventive Maintenance and Regulatory Compliance of heavy-duty trucks and construction equipment.

$28.00 to $32.00 per hour.
Responsibilities- Service and perform minor repairs on gas and diesel fleet trucks and heavy construction equipment.
- Check and fill fluid levels, service lube points and perform routine preventative maintenance
- Follow safety protocols and ensure vehicles meet 90-Day BIT, DOT, CARB, and company safety standards
- Prepare work orders and maintain service, repair, and maintenance records in SAP software program
- Maintain positive relationships with plant personnel
- Complete daily work assignments in a timely fashion
- Perform tasks from verbal/written instructions and communicate effectively with supervisor and fellow employees
- Keep work area clean and orderly
High School diploma/GED; trade schooling preferred
Requirements/Qualifications- 1-3 years experience performing preventive maintenance in an industrial shop environment
- Clean driving record and Class C driver’s license required
- Must be able to work safely independently and with a team
- Knowledge of industrial and shop safety rules and procedures
- Ability to operate vehicles and equipment for testing and troubleshooting before and after performing maintenance activities
- Computer skills necessary for data entry of work orders
- Perform tasks from verbal/written instructions and communicate effectively with supervisor and fellow employees
- Physical Requirements:
must lift 60 pounds with regularity, bend, stoop and stretch - Follow and promote Cal Portland's safety culture, policies and procedures, including OSHA and MSHA regulations.
- Welding experience
- Class A driver's license
- SAP experience
- Mechanics Certifications
Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
