Job Summary and Responsibilities

In keeping with the Marian Regional Medical Center philosophy, the RN Surgical Services PACU is an experienced practitioner who demonstrates in-depth knowledge of nursing, patient care and the ability to practice independently at MRMC and applicable entities. The RN PACU provides comprehensive and compassionate care to surgical patients from pre‑admission (SDCC/SHU) through immediate post‑anesthesia recovery (PACU). This dynamic role involves conducting thorough pre‑operative assessments, educating patients and families, ensuring surgical readiness, and expertly managing immediate post‑operative care by continuously monitoring vital signs, managing pain, addressing potential complications, and facilitating safe discharge, all while prioritizing patient safety, comfort, and optimal outcomes in a fast‑paced environment.

Minimum required:

• Acute care experience within the last two (2) years.
• Critical Care experience required.
• Current California Registered Nurse license.
• Current CPR certification AHA – BLS within 30 days.
• ACLS within 30 days.
• PALS within 30 days.

• Specialty certification highly preferred; CPAN, CAPA, CCRN, etc.
• BSN preferred.

Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post‑hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for Common Spirit Health compliance requirements.
