Travel RN - Med​/Surg

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Home Health position requiring a CA RN license and BLS certification.

Job Details

• Position is based in a post-acute home health setting,

• Patient load averages five visits per day and includes infusions, IV antibiotics, TPN, central lines, PICC lines, and blood draws,

• Work schedule is typically Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm, with flexible hours and a 1-hour lunch break,

• Weekend work is required every third weekend with corresponding weekday time off if desired,

• There is a holiday rotation requirement,

• On-call is required 2-4 times per month, weekdays from 5pm to 8am,

• Documentation is completed in Netsmart (formerly Allscripts) EMR system,

• No charge nurse or nurse aides support,

Job Requirements

• Active CA RN license is required at the time of consideration; pending licenses are not accepted,

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required,

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with home health experience required,

• Experience with Netsmart (or Allscripts) EMR preferred,

• Ability to perform pediatric infusions occasionally; pediatric patients are generally referred to ER for evaluation,

• Copy of driver's license is required for consideration,

• Two professional references required: one supervisor reference from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility,

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include performing home visits for IV therapy, blood draws, and care for patients with central and PICC lines,

• Orientation specific to the unit is 1.5 to 2 weeks,

• Scrub color is flexible; any color is allowed,

• Team structure does not include charge RN or nurse aides,

• Most patients are adults, with minimal pediatric visits,

• Must participate in the on-call and holiday rotation per department policy,
