Maintenance Coordinator

This is a full-time position responsible for maintaining production line equipment and rolling stock, including Loaders and Lift Trucks, PLCs, mechanical/electric motors and controls, hydraulic, conveyor and pneumatic equipment. The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, with the ability to respond, troubleshoot and repair in a timely manner using diagrams, manuals, and manufacturer specifications. Outside vendors may be engaged as needed. Knowledge and safe use of tools and instruments are required.

• Assign work as required and ensure completion
• Train and mentor Maintenance Tech, if applicable
• Participate in interview process for Maintenance Tech openings, if applicable
• Follow all plant safety practices, procedures, and programs
• Communicate and schedule maintenance with Production and Shipping personnel
• Use Maintenance Work Order System; document work performed and track hours
• Identify required parts and coordinate with Purchasing
• Rebuild and modify plant systems and equipment as needed; welding and basic pipe fitting
• Maintain safety awareness and hazard identification, following corporate procedures
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and unscheduled repairs as needed
• Perform electrical troubleshooting and repairs; read and interpret electrical schematics, manuals, and work orders
• Participate in special projects and other duties as needed

• High School Diploma or GED
• Post-secondary education/training
• 5 years of industrial mechanical experience
• 3+ years of industrial electrical experience
• 3+ years of work experience in a production plant environment

• Use of maintenance equipment (hand tools, power tools, industrial vehicles)
• Lifting generally under 45-50 lbs
• Ability to climb industrial ladders
• Periodically walk, stand, kneel, bend, stretch, lie
• Occasionally work in awkward positions for prolonged periods

• Typical plant environment with moderate to loud noise
• Navigate plant site, climb stairs, reach for product, travel over varied terrain
• Exposure to weather, soil-less media, dust, grease, oil and soil amendments
• Required PPE includes hardhat, safety vest, steel-toe shoes, protective eyewear (may vary by task)
