Overview

Summary:

Under the direction of the VP Consumer Loans, the MLO Supervisor is responsible for efficiently supervising the daily operations of the Mortgage Loan Officers. Resolves complex member issues. Assists in coaching employees of the Mortgage Lending Team to achieve individual, department and Credit Union goals. Promotes and maintains a positive image of the Credit Union.

Assists in coaching employees of the Mortgage Lending Team to achieve individual, department and Credit Union goals. Promotes and maintains a positive image of the Credit Union.

Responsibilities
  • Under the direction of the VP Consumer Loans, plans, manages, directs, organizes, and controls the operational activities and employees of the department, including cross-selling, member service, and departmental collaboration.
  • Compiles and analyzes real estate loan reports and makes recommendations to VP Consumer Loans.
  • Collects, examines, and evaluates member financial and personal data to counsel and recommend appropriate residential lending products.
  • Regularly attends and participates in in-house training.
  • Facilitates and assists members with the residential lending application process, manages member expectations and establishes valuable member trust relationships resulting in repeat business and loan referrals.
  • Keeps abreast of legislation and regulations pertaining to real estate loans.
  • Researches and resolves complex member concerns, transactions, and errors.
  • Ensures that employee training and development is being utilized effectively to achieve performance expectations of Real Estate Lending department.
  • Responsible for achieving department sales goals as established by VP Consumer Loans and AVP Real Estate.
  • Establishes and monitors employee sales and production goals.
  • Monitors and observes employee performance, including technical accuracy, sales and service efforts, and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Monitors service standard results daily, weekly, and monthly. Reviews employee activities and works with VP Consumer Loans to formulate recommendations for improvement.
  • Provides leadership and professional development of Mortgage Loan Officers to ensure optimal member service. Encourages teamwork.
  • Works with Credit Union partners and vendors to ensure expenses are in accordance with budget under direction of VP Consumer Loans.
  • Supports the VP Consumer Loans by ensuring business objectives are attained and member service delivery is professional and efficient.
  • Participates in project implementation, including leading and participating in business priority projects.
Supervisory Functions
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Credit Union policies and applicable laws.
  • Prepares branch schedule for assigned employees for a variety of work shifts, ensuring that breaks and meals are scheduled to provide enough employee coverage and in compliance with federal and state wage and hour laws and regulations.
  • Supervisory duties include, but are not limited to, employee selection, training, coaching and discipline. Verifies employee time records and employee performance. Motivates, coaches, and evaluates assigned employees’ performance.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:

High School diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Two or more years of increasingly responsible branch operational experience in a supervisory role within a financial institution.

Develops and encourages cooperation and teamwork among employees. Possesses skills in directing, coaching, motivating, delegating, evaluating, and counseling assigned employees.
