Job Description
American Traveler seeks a Physical Therapist with at least 2 years of experience and BLS certification for a home health assignment using Cerner EMR.
Responsibilities- Role is based in home health providing physical therapy services in post-acute care settings
- Work primarily Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm, with flexibility and an 8-hour day schedule
- Weekend work required every 3rd weekend and coverage of minor holidays, with major holidays only if needed
- Assigned to a specific geographical region for patient visits
- Serves a patient population with diagnoses including orthopedic conditions, strokes, joint and spinal injuries
- Multi-disciplinary team includes occupational therapy, speech therapy, and rehabilitation aides or assistants (primarily perm staff)
- Documentation is completed using Cerner EMR;
Cerner experience is required or preferred - Orientation specific to the floor lasts 1.5-2 weeks
- Main responsibilities include providing direct patient care in home settings and thorough documentation using OASIS and Cerner
- Team includes support from OT, speech therapy, and rehabilitation aides or PTAs
- Business attire with a white lab coat is required; jeans are not permitted
- Floor-specific orientation is provided for 1.5-2 weeks
- Candidates must not have been directly employed by the affiliated health system in the past year, except if previously PRN through outside firms
- Candidates may be assigned to work within a specific region and are expected to travel accordingly
- First-time travelers will be considered for this role
- Active state or compact (NLC) PT license required and must be active at the time of consideration; license required if applicable
- Minimum 2 years of recent physical therapy experience required
- BLS certification required
- Experience with OASIS documentation is required
- At least one year of experience in PT/OT/Speech settings is required; home health experience is preferred but not required
- Two professional references required: one supervisor reference from the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor reference from the past 3 years with employment dates and eligibility for rehire
- Copy of driver's license required for consideration
