In keeping with the Marian Regional Medical Center Hospice healthcare philosophy, the Occupational Therapist performs all phases of occupational therapy evaluation, treatment planning, treatment and documentation, and performs other tasks related to quality of care and effective department function.

• Evaluate patients.
• Participate in the treatment program planning.
• Administer occupational therapy modalities, procedures, and tests.
• Document accurate patient records and progress notes.
• Maintain appropriate oral or written contact with the referring physician and co‑workers.
• Ensure a clean and safe work environment by identifying unsafe conditions and malfunctioning equipment and using appropriate procedures for their correction.
• Supervise aides in the overall treatment program.
• Assist DPCS, Hospice Supervisor, and QI Coordinator with QI as required.
• Participate in departmental functions and activities such as in‑service education, clerical tasks and other tasks relevant to effective department function.

• Minimum Experience
  
  Required:
  
  State licensed OT with 1 year experience within the last 5 years.
• Minimum
  
  Education Required:
  
  Graduate of an accredited school of occupational therapy (accredited jointly by AOTA and by the Council on Medical Education of the AMA).
• Licensure
  
  Required:
  
  CPR certification; current California driver’s license; clean driving record with proof of liability insurance; contractors must provide proof of professional liability, annual PPD, and physical exam.
• Special
  
  Skills:
  
  Ability to communicate effectively, basic knowledge of OT principles, organization and prioritization, team collaboration, ability to teach therapy techniques, and work with minimal supervision.
• Preferred Experience: 2 years previous experience as an occupational therapist preferred but not required; previous hand therapy experience preferred but not required.
• Preferred Training: Completion of Hospice Orientation Program upon hiring and completion of HH orientation.

Location: Marian Regional Medical Center, a 191‑bed facility located in Santa Maria, California.

Pay Range: $45.26 – $67.32 per hour.
