Hey Tutor has partnered with a school district in Santa Maria to hire tutors who can assist elementary students during after‑school hours. You will be working with students of all ages between K‑6th grade.

• Work with groups of students independently of a teacher or school staff.
• Prepare the classroom and start tutoring sessions.
• Pick up and drop off students from designated school areas (if requested).
• Take attendance and run lessons through the Hey Tutor Dashboard.
• Document student progress with the dashboard.
• Facilitate baseline and summative assessments when requested by the manager.
• Lead a group of students using the curriculum and materials provided by the program.
• Create an engaging environment that fosters a sense of belonging.
• Support students in making positive behavior choices.
• Engage and interact alongside the students during tutoring lessons.
• Clock in and out of Deputy for shifts daily.
• Perform any other duties required by the company, manager, or school site.

Pay range: $21‑27 per hour (determined at interview based on education and experience).

Monday‑Friday, 20 hours per week (12 tutors total).

• Must have completed an AA or higher, or be currently enrolled in college/university.
• Teaching or tutoring experience, especially with children.
• Comfortable working in a classroom setting.
• Clear FBI‑DOJ background check (provided through us).
• COVID‑19 vaccination required.
• Spanish fluency preferred.
