A state wildlife conservation and public education agency is seeking an experienced Part‑Time Contract Web Developer to provide temporary technical support, maintenance, and development for its suite of public‑facing digital platforms that support outdoor recreation, wildlife conservation, education, and information dissemination throughout the state.
The Team You Will Be JoiningA mission‑driven state agency dedicated to wildlife conservation, outdoor recreation, and statewide public education. The team oversees multiple public‑facing websites and digital tools that serve residents, visitors, and conservation partners.
Major Duties- Web & Application Development
- Maintain, enhance, and optimize multiple Word Press and Laravel‑based websites and digital tools, including the primary wildlife and conservation information portal, the State Wildlife Action Plan website, the recreational off‑highway vehicle information site, and the weekly fishing report and iFish submission form.
- Improve digital performance, user experience, and long‑term maintainability.
- Accessibility & Compatibility
- Ensure ADA‑compliant, responsive, and cross‑platform performance across devices.
- Implement ongoing refinements to improve usability, accessibility, and reliability.
- Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide expert‑level troubleshooting for existing web systems and applications.
- Support the agency’s mobile application ecosystem by monitoring App Store and Google Play listings, ensuring functionality of the eTag mobile application, and coordinating updates and improvements with development teams.
- Backend: PHP, SQL.
- Frontend:
JavaScript, CSS, HTML
5. - Frameworks & Platforms:
Word Press, Laravel, React Native. - Mobile Development:
Objective‑C, Kotlin/Java (Android), Swift (iOS), or React Native.
- Minimum four (4) years of front‑end development experience, including responsive web design and modern application development.
- Full‑stack development experience spanning database design, API integration, and user interface implementation.
- Minimum two (2) years of post‑development website/application management, including use of debugging tools for browsers, monitoring performance and usage metrics (e.g., Google Analytics).
- Experience supporting IT teams with back‑end system integration, server configuration, or database connections.
- Strong written communication and content editing abilities.
- Proven ability to manage projects independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent communication across face‑to‑face and electronic channels.
- Compensation Rate: $50/hour.
- Length of Engagement: 6 months.
