Informatics Associate (Antibody Discovery)

Robert Walters is seeking a talented Informatics Associate to join an innovative antibody discovery team in Santa Fe, NM. This is an exciting opportunity for scientists with a passion for coding and bioinformatics to play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between biological research and data-driven insights. Key Responsibilities:
- Informatics Support: Provide bioinformatics support for antibody discovery processes, focusing on Sanger and NGS sequencing technologies.
- Workflow Design: Develop and execute backend workflows to optimize antibody discovery pipelines.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Independently address and resolve technical challenges within informatics operations.
- Data Analysis: Utilize R, Python, and SQL to assess sequencing quality (FASTQ, ABI, FASTA) and prioritize research leads effectively.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Serve as the technical liaison between wet-lab scientists and engineering teams to ensure seamless communication and project execution.
What We’re Looking For:
- Education: Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, or Molecular Biology, OR a Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of relevant lab/informatics experience.
- Coding Skills: Proficiency in Python or R is essential for success in this role.
- Domain Expertise: Solid understanding of DNA/amino acid processing and familiarity with NGS platforms such as Illumina or Pac Bio.
