• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
• Current New Mexico RN license or Compact state RN license (acceptable for New Mexico)
• BLS Certification (AHA required)
• ACLS Certification (AHA required)
• Minimum 1 year recent Operating Room (OR) RN experience; perioperative/surgical nursing experience preferred
• Familiarity with sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and perioperative workflows
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesia, and multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to respond to emergencies, adapt to changing schedules, and participate in on-call rotations
• Physical ability to stand, walk, assist with patient positioning, and handle surgical equipment

• Coordinate and implement patient care in the Operating Room, ensuring safety and quality standards are met
• Provide perioperative nursing care: pre-op preparation, intraoperative assistance, and post-op handoff
• Assist surgeons, surgical techs, and anesthesia staff during procedures and maintain sterile field
• Monitor patients’ conditions, recognize changes, and respond to emergencies as needed
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to hospital policies, protocols, and regulatory requirements
• Float to other units as required and participate in weekend and on-call rotations
• Demonstrate respect for patient rights and cultural sensitivity in a diverse patient population
