Required Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing (RN) program
  • Current New Mexico RN license or valid Compact state RN license (required)
  • BLS Certification (AHA) – required
  • ACLS Certification (AHA) – required
  • PALS Certification (AHA) or ENPC – required
  • TNCC or ATCN – required
  • CPI or equivalent de-escalation training (preferred)
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Room (ED/ER) nursing experience; trauma and triage experience highly preferred
  • Current knowledge and clinical skills appropriate to the ED patient population (critical care, triage, rapid assessment)
Primary Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and implement patient-centered care specific to the Emergency Department and emergency nursing practice
  • Triage, assess, and stabilize patients presenting with urgent, emergent, and trauma-related conditions
  • Deliver high-quality, efficient, and safe care in accordance with ED standards and organizational policies
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
  • Respond to emergency and crisis situations with composure, critical thinking, and advanced nursing skills
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Demonstrate professionalism, respect, and a commitment to patient safety and a smoke-free environment
Preferred Skills & Clinical Competencies
  • Experience with trauma protocols, rapid sequence intubation assistance, and management of critical patients
  • Strong triage skills and ability to prioritize in a busy emergency department
  • Familiarity with ED equipment and procedures, including ACLS/PALS algorithms
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and documentation skills
