Position: Wound Care Nurse (RN)

Our company is looking for a Temporary Wound Care Nurse (RN) to join our team.

Responsibilities
  • Complete MDS documentation for Skin Condition (Section M) for all facility residents.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of nursing and other clinical education programs.
  • Attend staff meetings, in-service classes, and committee meetings.
  • Participate in weekly wound team rounds.
  • Establishes competencies for clinicians regarding wound care.
  • Collaborates with other members of the Education Department on joint educational initiatives.
  • Collaborate amongst Interdisciplinary Team to encompass all aspects of care to promote wound healing.
  • Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans for each assigned resident.
  • Participate in the development and achievement of Wound Care Program and objectives.
  • Perform all other duties as requested.
  • Communicate in a positive, caring, and helpful manner with residents, family members, and other staff.
  • Develops educational modules for wound care to be used for internal and external education, including teaching tools for patients and families.
  • Respect the dignity of each person.
Requirements
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds frequently and 10 pounds constantly.
  • Ability to work and stand 80% of an 8-to-12-hour shift.
  • Certified BLS or completion in first 90 days of employment required.
  • Excellent presentation skills and organizational skills required.
  • WCC certification, CWCN, CWOCN or CWS is preferred or certification pending within one year.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to perform effectively in fast-paced, stressful environment.
  • Excellent physical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Confers with the Director of Nursing and/or other licensed nursing personnel regarding dermatologic disorders of residents in the facility.
  • Valid State RN License required. Previous geriatric nursing experience preferred.
  • Current RN license required.
