Overview
The Medical Associate/CNA is responsible for assisting with patient care in medically managed detoxification, residential treatment, and outpatient recovery units, along with a team of experienced RNs, LPNs, Counselors, Case Managers, Residential Service Associates, Peer Support Workers, Nurse Practitioners, and Physicians.
The Medical Associate/CNA assists the RN/LPN by collecting objective and subjective data from observations, examinations, interviews, and written records in an accurate and timely manner. The Medical Associate/CNA assists clients through withdrawal management and throughout their treatment experience, documents care provided in the electronic health record, collaborates with the team to carry out the plan of care, engages with patients/clients with empathy, kindness, and respect, follows orders delegated by the nurse, and carries out tasks as assigned by the RN/LPN.
Responsibilities- Assist with patient care in detoxification, residential treatment, and outpatient recovery units as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Collect objective and subjective data from observations, examinations, interviews, and written records in an accurate and timely manner under supervision.
- Assist clients through withdrawal management and throughout their treatment experience.
- Document care provided in the electronic health record.
- Collaborate with the team to carry out the plan of care.
- Engage with patients/clients with empathy, kindness, and respect.
- Follow orders delegated by the nurse and carry out tasks as assigned by RN/LPN.
Direct Supervisor: Medical Associate Supervisor/LPN.
Dotted line reporting: Registered Nurse and/or medical providers on shift for medical supervision/direction on patient care.
