Summary

Key Requirements:

The Bakery Operations Manager is responsible for guest relations and satisfaction. He/She supports the Department Manager in duties such as ordering, merchandising, maintaining department conditions, and training staff. He/She assists in leading the department's efficient, effective, safe, legal, and profitable operations.

  • Greet and engage guests upon entry
  • Assist in interviewing, training, scheduling, and performance management of team members
  • Communicate information effectively within the department
  • Maintain positive atmosphere and morale
  • Demonstrate leadership through time management and delegation
  • Support division concepts and programs
  • Help meet financial goals
  • Ensure product quality and availability
  • Monitor and safeguard department assets, ensuring policy compliance
  • Practice safe work habits, maintain cleanliness and organization
  • Utilize department systems and processes consistently
  • Collaborate with the Department Manager on meetings and planning
  • Support coaching and development of team members
  • Maintain updated books and manuals
  • Coordinate inventory processes and reporting
  • Manage department issues in the absence of the Department Manager
  • Adhere to Food Safety Procedures
  • Manage conflicts effectively
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Key Responsibilities
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year bakery experience
  • Professional communication with management and staff
  • Self-motivated, problem-solving skills, minimal supervision
  • Physical ability to perform tasks including bending, lifting, standing, etc.
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Lift up to 50 lbs, push/pull up to 100 lbs
  • Work in a freezer for up to 15 minutes
  • Basic math and computer skills (Word, Excel, Email)
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Maintain Certified Food Safety Manager certification
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus
  • Flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Open to supervisory coaching
  • Team player attitude
