SummaryKey Requirements:
The Bakery Operations Manager is responsible for guest relations and satisfaction. He/She supports the Department Manager in duties such as ordering, merchandising, maintaining department conditions, and training staff. He/She assists in leading the department's efficient, effective, safe, legal, and profitable operations.
- Greet and engage guests upon entry
- Assist in interviewing, training, scheduling, and performance management of team members
- Communicate information effectively within the department
- Maintain positive atmosphere and morale
- Demonstrate leadership through time management and delegation
- Support division concepts and programs
- Help meet financial goals
- Ensure product quality and availability
- Monitor and safeguard department assets, ensuring policy compliance
- Practice safe work habits, maintain cleanliness and organization
- Utilize department systems and processes consistently
- Collaborate with the Department Manager on meetings and planning
- Support coaching and development of team members
- Maintain updated books and manuals
- Coordinate inventory processes and reporting
- Manage department issues in the absence of the Department Manager
- Adhere to Food Safety Procedures
- Manage conflicts effectively
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Must be 18 years or older
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least one year bakery experience
- Professional communication with management and staff
- Self-motivated, problem-solving skills, minimal supervision
- Physical ability to perform tasks including bending, lifting, standing, etc.
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Lift up to 50 lbs, push/pull up to 100 lbs
- Work in a freezer for up to 15 minutes
- Basic math and computer skills (Word, Excel, Email)
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Maintain Certified Food Safety Manager certification
- Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus
- Flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Open to supervisory coaching
- Team player attitude
