The primary responsibilities of this role will be to operate, troubleshoot, test, repair and maintain all mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and fiber optic equipment on wind turbine generators as required to support site operations.
PRIMARY DUTIES ANDACCOUNTABILITIES
- Troubleshoot faults within wind turbine generator systems using tools ranging from common hand and power tools to precision measuring instruments.
- Read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, specifications, maintenance procedures, and work orders to determine material requirements and proper assembly procedures.
- Inspect and test wire installations, assemblies and circuits.
- Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
- Operate a variety of hydraulic torque and tension equipment for the purpose of preventative maintenance and repair of tower flanges, gearbox mounts, and blade & hub bolts.
- Work with crane rigging, lifting devices, tag lines and personnel by giving both verbal and hand signals for proper positioning of load being lifted.
- Complete proper & timely documentations including type, cost, materials, and time within the work order management system.
- Conduct work safely and with an attention to detail.
- Perform any other duties as assigned, such as on-call, outside regular business hours.
Associates Degree in Engineering Technology, or Electronics OR
HS Diploma or GED with minimum of 12 months of technical training or equivalent experience
Successfully complete the training requirements and time in job requirements for the position including previously passing the EEI test MASS
Availability for overtime as required and limited travel
Good oral and written communication skills
Basic computer skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Complete High Voltage training
Ability to climb 300 WTG up to 3 times per day utilizing service ladder only
Ability to appropriately lift up to 50 pounds
Valid driver' s license and access to an insured vehicle
- Substation/switchyard operation, high voltage switching,
- SEL, or equivalent control relay, outage planning, medium voltage distribution experience.
