Overview
Hall & Evans is seeking a candidate with legal assistant or paralegal experience, preferably 5+ years, to support its complex civil litigation practice in our Santa Fe office. This position can require billable hours.
We offer a hybrid working schedule (3 days/office and 2 days/home) after successful completion of training.
Responsibilities- Assemble and file documents electronically
- Prepare motion and discovery shells, motion filing
- Expert coordination for depositions and trials
- Assist with preparation of trial/mediation/arbitration documents
- Interface professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court clerks
- Schedule meetings, conference calls, depositions, court hearings, and travel arrangements
- Maintain client files and contact information
- Outlook/LSS calendaring, and iManage document management program experience is highly preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel)
- Knowledge of manipulation and editing of PDF documents using Acrobat Adobe
- Ability to work overtime as necessary
- Ability to do billable hours, preferred
- Other administrative tasks, as assigned
- Complex defense litigation experience is highly preferred
- Legal Assistant or Paralegal experience - 5+ years, preferred
- Minimum of high school graduation; business school, or related professional legal secretarial degree or paralegal certificate strongly preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Excellent technology skills
- Ability to anticipate problems, find solutions, and prioritize work accordingly
- Well-developed time management and organizational skills
- Efficient in handling a high-volume workload with critical deadlines
- Ability to exercise a high degree of personal integrity, confidentiality, tact, discretion, and judgment
