Salary$19.97 - $29.95 Hourly
$41,527 - $62,291 Annually
This position is a Pay Band C4.
- Provide extensive financial support to the Center for Public Health and Public Health Division.
- Demonstrate broad experience with statewide financial system (SHARE), including knowledge of requisitions, purchase orders, payment vouchers, monitoring warrants, monthly reconciliation, travel and travel reimbursements.
- Knowledge of the NM Procurement Code, DFA Regulations, and internal processes for the Department of Health; operate independently with diversified procedures and standards.
- Provide responsive and professional service to PHD/CHP staff. Independently procure services and/or goods, process payment vouchers, reconcile accounts, and provide financial support to the field with accuracy and timeliness. Close out the fiscal year by paying all invoices in full and open the new fiscal year by encumbering funds for daily administrative needs.
- Manage multitasking and, as needed, occasional use of state vehicles; maintain a current Defensive Driving Certificate.
- Perform administrative tasks such as answering the telephone, filing, photocopying, pre-audit incoming financial documents, and routing documents to the appropriate area for approval.
- Travel auditing and processing; work under extremely tight deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
The customers consist of the Public Health Division statewide staff as well as the Center for Health Protection statewide staff.

- Experience with organizing daily operations and providing feedback to senior management.
High school diploma or equivalency and one (1) year of experience in bill collection, bookkeeping, office administration, auditing, accounting, and/or finance. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience totaling one (1) year may substitute for the required experience.
Employment RequirementsMust possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
Working ConditionsWork is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required. This position may involve prolonged standing, walking, stooping, bending and lifting in a busy office setting.
