Construction Accounting Manager
LOCATION:
Santa Fe Spring, CA (Onsite)
SALARY RANGE: $85,000.00 - $
JOB SUMMARYIf you’re someone who brings clarity to complex projects, you’ll thrive here. As the Construction Accounting Manager, you’ll keep the financial side of each project steady and accurate — from job costing to financial reporting and cash flow. You’ll work closely with operations and leadership, helping the team make confident, informed decisions. Your work doesn’t just support the business; it helps drive it forward.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Financial & Job Cost Accounting- Manage job cost accounting for labor, materials, equipment, and subs
- Maintain accurate budgets and forecasts
- Build reliable WIP schedules (a plus)
- Provide clear financial insights to leadership
- Handle construction billing (AIA, progress, change orders, retainage)
- Manage AR, collections, and lien releases
- Support healthy cash flow and ensure timely, contract‑compliant invoicing
- Process payroll for field and office teams
- Ensure prevailing wage and certified payroll compliance
- Allocate labor accurately to job costs
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Maintain GAAP‑aligned accounting practices
- Coordinate CPA reviews, bonding, insurance, and lender reporting
- Support SBA and government‑contracting financial requirements
- Lead annual budgets and rolling forecasts
- Track overhead, labor efficiency, and project trends
- Provide financial reports that support strategy and growth
- Oversee and optimize construction accounting systems
- Maintain and improve accounting procedures
- Experience in construction accounting & job costing
- Strong understanding of WIP, revenue recognition, and billing
- Familiarity with systems such as American Contractor, Sage, Viewpoint, Procore, Quick Books, CMiC
- Public works or government‑contracting experience (preferred)
- CPA or equivalent experience (a plus)
- Full‑time, Monday–Friday
