Senior HR Business Partner (contract with option to convert)

Step into a high-impact, hands-on HR leadership role with a fast-moving, highly regulated organization. This position is ideal for an experienced HR professional who thrives in employee relations, operational execution, and partnering directly with leaders to drive results.
What You’ll DoRoughly 60% of this role will focus on strategic HR Business Partner support—helping leaders navigate employee relations, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness
—while also ensuring strong HR operations, compliance, and risk mitigation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support a workforce of 200+ employees, with the majority being hourly production employees in a non-union environment
- Serve as a trusted advisor on California employment law and key federal requirements (
FLSA, FMLA, ADA, OSHA
) - Lead employee relations investigations
, recommending appropriate actions and ensuring consistent documentation - Partner with leaders on role design,
job descriptions
, and proper classification/compliance - Support talent processes, including performance management, development planning, and retention
- Collaborate closely with site leadership and EHS in an industrial/processing environment where safety and compliance matter
- Maintain HR data integrity and documentation aligned to global and local policies
- Leverage Success Factors for employee data, reporting, recruiting, and performance workflows
- Partner with payroll using ADP
, including time & attendance knowledge - Monitor engagement trends and drive retention-focused action plans
- Manage and develop one onsite HR Generalist
- Align locally with global HR leadership to support broader people strategy
- Contract through June
, with opportunity to convert to direct hire - After the first month:
hybrid schedule (2 remote days/week)

- 10+ years progressive HR experience
- 5+ years leading or guiding HR staff
- Strong expertise in CA employment law + federal compliance
- Deep experience in employee relations and investigations
- Background supporting hourly, production-based work forces
- HR operations strength in complex, regulated environments
- HRIS experience
- Excellent judgment, communication, and problem-solving
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field
