We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team. This role is ideal for an HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is capable of handling sensitive employee relations matters, leading critical meetings, and making independent decisions within defined HR functions. The Senior HR Generalist will serve as a key point of contact for employees and management, providing guidance on HR policies, compliance, performance management, and organizational development.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Lead and manage employee relations matters including investigations, conflict, resolution, and disciplinary actions.
  • Conduct and manage termination meetings independently, ensuring compliance with legal and internal policies.
  • Makes autonomous decisions on routine HR matters such as leave management, job changes, and policy interpretation, escalating only complex or high‑risk issues.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for workers comp claims, monitoring and administration, communications with employees, managers, insurance carriers, and lawyers.
  • Ensures timely processing of workers comp claims, evaluations accident reports to determine accuracy and completeness and to ensure adequate investigation.
  • Processing payroll for all Westmont Group company’s
  • Distribute payroll checks and payroll related correspondence to employees
  • Process final procedures (COBRA, last paycheck, eligibility for Unemployment Insurance, etc.) for all terminated employees
  • File, maintain and update the Master file, employee personal, medical, training records, vacation and sick time schedules, time and attendance records
  • Coordinate with the Paycor (payroll service), CTE (time clocks) and IT to maintain and update software and hardware, as required
  • Processing verifications of employment (dates and titles only) to outside parties; providing further information only if appropriate forms (signed authorization, subpoenas) are provided.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all personal information
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Technical field required.
  • At least five years of human resource management experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills.
  • Experience leading sensitive conversations and terminations with confidence.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and make sound, timely decisions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly detail-oriented
