Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Environmental, Health, and Safety Intern to join our team at our Operations Facility in Santa Fe Springs, California. As an Environmental Intern, you will work with our operations team to support our environmental audits, inspections, reporting, EH&S training, as well as other initiatives and help us maintain a strong Safety culture and environmental at Kloeckner Metals.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about EH&S and wants to gain hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
This position will be onsite at our facility in Santa Fe Springs, CA.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct Safety Inspections: Assist in performing safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards in the workplace
- Data Collection and Analysis: Gather and analyze safety‑related data, including incident reports and near‑miss incidents
- Training Support: Help organize and facilitate safety training sessions for employees on various safety topics
- Documentation Maintenance: Maintain and update safety records and documentation, ensuring compliance with regulations
- Safety Equipment Monitoring: Assist in the monitoring and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety equipment
- Report Preparation: Aid in the preparation of safety reports and presentations for management
- Safety Research: Conduct research on current safety trends and best practices to improve workplace safety
- Communication: Assist in communicating safety policies and procedures to employees effectively
Requirements
- Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Knowledge of Safety Regulations: Basic understanding of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards

Strong analytical skills for assessing safety data and identifying trends - Communication
Skills:
Good verbal and written communication skills for preparing reports and facilitating training - Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail in safety inspections and documentation
