The Penny Ice Creamery & The Picnic Basket

The Glass Jar, Inc. is searching for a self-directed and responsible Delivery Driver to join our incredible team!

The Glass Jar, which includes The Penny Ice Creamery and The Picnic Basket, was founded in Santa Cruz, CA in 2010 with a focus on made from scratch deliciousness, locally sourced ingredients and community.

We're passionate about our stores and our menus, which are based on local, seasonal, organic ingredients and artisan production. We're looking for an organized, detail-oriented and even-keeled person to join our Delivery team and execute our deliveries throughout the week.

These deliveries involve moving ingredients, product, and various items between eight locations: six Penny Ice Creamery locations, our beachfront cafe The Picnic Basket, and The Glass Jar Office on Seabright Avenue in Santa Cruz. Delivery distances range from within Santa Cruz County to Santa Clara County.

Responsibilities Include:

• Gather, load and deliver all items needed for The Picnic Basket and The Penny Ice Creamery using our Requisition/Par System.
• Drive the company vehicle (2015 Ford Transit T-250) and/or other delivery vehicle(s).
• Organize, update and maintain a large inventory of goods.
• Learn and help to develop new procedures and systems, etc.
• Assist in relaying relevant information across The Glass Jar management team.

• A clean driving record & current California Driver's License.
• Strong decision-making skills; ability to plan strategically.
• Thorough and consistent attention to detail.
• Strong organization, prioritization and time-management skills.
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions with precision.
• Demonstrated ability to be self-directed; works well alone.
• Great communication skills and a friendly attitude.
• Ability to maintain professionalism.
• Enjoy interacting with all types of people.
• Ability to communicate using multiple systems (phone, Google Workspace, WhenIWork) on a frequent basis.
• Ability to stand for eight hours; ability to lift heavy objects (at least 50 pounds).
• Able to work a flexible schedule (early mornings, weekends and holidays).
• Able to work flexible, part-time hours (10 hours - 15 hours per week).
