BASIC FUNCTION:
The Group Sales Manager – Business Development is 100% a prospector, focused exclusively on proactively identifying, soliciting, and qualifying new group and convention business for the property. This role does not manage accounts or close business. Instead, this role drives top-of-funnel activity and delivers qualified group events leading to the on-site sales team for proposal, site inspection, and contracting. The ideal candidate is a relentless prospector with strong Silicon Valley market knowledge, a competitive spirit, and a proven track record of uncovering new opportunities.

This is a fully on-site, full-time position. The ideal candidate is a proven hotel/resort sales professional with deep market knowledge and established relationships in Silicon Valley.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Proactively solicit, identify, and qualify new group and convention leads through research, cold outreach, networking, and industry connections in the Silicon Valley and Bay Area markets.
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, third-party planners, and local industry partners.
· Consistently perform high-volume outreach through cold calls, emails, Linked In, and in-person networking to generate new leads.
· Generate and deliver qualified leads to the on-site sales team for proposal, site inspection, and closing.
· Maintain an active pipeline of qualified prospects, measured by weekly and monthly activity goals.
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of prospecting activities, leads, and account information in CRM systems.
