• The main duties of this position are to administer care to post-op patients in the Recovery area and to patients in Isolation. Also to assist with Surgery, Isolation, ICU and ER dismissals.
• Check in with the treatment lead at shift start to confirm immediate tasks; maintain open communication with the treatment lead throughout the day or when moving between hospital areas.
• Familiarize yourself with the staff on duty by checking the white board and noting lunch times; communicate with the lead to plan if lunch will be delayed.
• Check census and familiarize yourself with ICU patients; you may be asked to assist in ICU as needed.
• Obtain proper rounds on patients in Recovery and Isolation from overnight staff.
• Complete noted treatments on the flow sheets as directed by the DVM.
• Check schedule for surgeries and ensure kennels/beds are ready; assist ICU if patients will be moving to ICU.
• Assist with dismissals from ICU, Recovery and Isolation; coordinate with treatment lead if time conflicts or lunches are scheduled.
• Respond to light patient load or assist in other areas as advised by treatment lead and ICU.
• Help cover ICU lunches when able and assist with callbacks when able.
• Restrain animals safely and compassionately during examinations, treatments and procedures.
• Prepare patients for procedures (TPR, IVC placement, start IVF, premeds, and shaving as needed).
• Knowledge of prescription procedures, in-house filling, calling outside pharmacies, and noting in Cornerstone and our online pharmacy.

• Accurately perform routine in-house laboratory procedures on all equipment and handle specimens properly.
• Create lab forms and prepare samples; maintain laboratory equipment as a team responsibility.
• Take radiographs following safety procedures; use PPE and know where to place radiation badges when standing in for radiographs.

• Ensure the cleaning list in Recovery is completed daily.
• Ensure Isolation rooms are clean at day end for the next shift.
• Follow cleaning protocols after patient discharge from isolation.

• 4 shifts Monday - Sunday, including 1 weekend shift per week and some holidays

Pay Range: $22 — $26 USD
