Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in an acute care setting with night shifts and advanced certifications required.

• Work in the Labor & Delivery unit within an acute care hospital
• The unit consists of 8-10 rooms with a patient ratio of 1:1 or 1:3
• Night shift position with 12-hour shifts from 7p-7a and every other weekend required
• Expected to float to the Mother Baby unit as needed
• Care for high-risk obstetric cases such as PIH, preeclampsia, addiction, preterm labor, and patients on magnesium sulfate
• Utilizes Cerner and Fetal Link EMR systems and central fetal heart monitoring equipment
• Level 3 NICU available on site
• Work collaboratively with OB/GYN hospitalists, OB techs, and a multidisciplinary team
• Lactation consultants and a baby-friendly environment are part of the unit
• Hospital provides ceil blue scrubs for staff
• Orientation includes three unit-specific shifts
• Holiday coverage is rotated with core staff
• Unit handles approximately 65-75 deliveries per month
• The unit is secured (locked)
• First-time travelers are accepted

• Current CA RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years recent experience in Labor & Delivery
• Certifications required: BLS, NRP, and Advanced Fetal Monitoring
• COVID-19 vaccination required
• Experience with Cerner and Fetal Link preferred
• Ability to pass competency tests in dysrhythmia and sterile technique
• Must provide two recent professional references, including a supervisor reference from the last 12 months
