Education Instructor – The Bay School
40 hours = Monday – Friday; 7:30-4pm or 8am-4:30pm

As an Instructor at The Bay School in Santa Cruz, CA, you be an essential part of our mission to support individuals ages 5-22 with Autism, Developmental Disabilities, Brain Injury, or Neurobehavioral Disorders in the classroom in achieving their goals and aspirations. Through the proven methods of ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis), you will be providing compassionate care, facilitating personalized assistance, and engaging in skill-building activities.

About the Position
- Collaborative Teamwork:
Partner closely with teachers to bring individualized educational plans (IEPs) to life, ensuring each student s unique needs are met. - Direct Support:
Provide hands-on assistance with personal care tasks and expertly manage behavioral crises, offering unwavering support in a safe and inclusive learning environment. - Positive Communication:
Harness the power of positive behavior support strategies to cultivate essential social skills, enhance communication abilities, and promote independence among students. - Cultivating a Supportive Atmosphere:
Cultivate a supportive atmosphere where students feel valued, respected, and empowered to embrace their journey of learning and growth. - Documentation and Reporting:
Thoroughly document student progress and maintain open lines of communication with parents, caregivers, and the multidisciplinary team, ensuring everyone is informed and involved in each student s educational journey.
What You Bring:
- Age requirement:
Must be 18 years or older to be eligible for employment - Education:
High School Diploma or GED required - Driver’s license:
Valid and current California driver’s license preferred - Availability:
Monday through Friday : 7:30-4pm or 8am-4:30pm. This is a year-round program . - Interpersonal

- Compensation: $20 per hour with a $1.00 increase after six months
