Primary Care Physician, Medical Doctor
Overview
Join our Santa Cruz, CA Team! Family Medicine Physician/Residency Program Instructor. Salary Range: $190,000 to $277,000.
ResponsibilitiesBeginning July 2024, our new Family Medicine Residency will make this clinic the residents’ primary continuity site—an exceptional chance to practice academic family medicine in a community setting. Family physicians will have frequent, hands-on teaching and precepting responsibilities: supervising resident continuity panels, delivering bedside and clinic-based instruction, contributing to didactic curricula, evaluating trainee performance, and partnering on quality-improvement and population-health projects.
Faculty opportunities also include precepting PA students, mentoring NPs and PAs, and shaping the next generation of community clinicians, offering rare academic engagement without leaving the community clinic environment. Providers blend in-person and remote care, with roughly 80% of time devoted to direct patient encounters and 20% reserved for clinical administrative responsibilities. Standard visit length is 20 minutes (targeting ten patients per four-hour session), and all documentation, e-prescribing, and quality reporting are completed in the EPIC OCHIN electronic health record.
This role is ideal for clinicians who want meaningful continuity practice, leadership within a multidisciplinary team, and a powerful teaching role in an emerging community-based residency program.
