Overview
General Purpose
The primary purpose of this position is to attend to and greet visitors, answer telephone calls, and perform clerical duties within the Reception/Administrative area. This position has no clinical involvement or duties of any kind.
- Provide general administrative and clerical support.
- Greet and welcome patients, clients, and other visitors with a friendly and positive demeanor.
- Answer telephone calls, take messages, or forward calls.
- Check visitors in and direct or escort them to specific destinations.
- Inform other employees of visitors’ arrivals and cancellations.
- Maintain visitor sign‑in log.
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail.
- Schedule appointments and maintain meeting room bookings.
- Maintain and tidy the reception area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and/or
Experience:
Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or GED. Previous administrative or receptionist experience preferred. Language skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees. Mathematical skills:
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Suite products, clerical functions, and multiline phone system.
The employee may occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Requires frequent use of a desktop or laptop computer, and the ability to sit, stand, walk, and talk. No travel required.
