Responsibilities- The Material Control Clerk ensures supplies are sorted, transferred, and inventoried according to company standards. The role supports continuous improvement, adds value to the organization, and collaborates with various disciplines to achieve 100% inventory accuracy and on-time delivery.
- Receive daily items and unpack, sort and store items in correct stockroom and warehouse locations according to documented standards.
- Assess items for defects, ensure item counts match receipt details, mark items with tags/labels, and record item details in manual and/or digital inventory lists daily.
- Calculate, verify and correct inventory computations as needed, including physical counts, investigate discrepancies, and update inventory records with accurate information.
- Prepare material releases and deliver to follow-on work centers for internal processing.
- Assist stock supervisor as needed with tasks including cleaning the warehouse and stockroom facilities, handling excess or obsolete stock, training new stock clerk personnel, and ensuring stock areas meet safety standards.
- Perform daily maintenance of supplies, equipment, tools and storage areas according to standard procedures.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 3 years of related experience in an aerospace and/or manufacturing warehouse environment.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Solid understanding of basic math, counting, and unit measurement.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to learn quickly, work reliably and accurately in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
- Forklift operation is a plus.
- Experience with ERP or inventory management systems is a plus.
The role sits in a warehouse setting and requires standing and walking; may involve fine grasping movements, bends, and twists; operates a computer and other office equipment. May occasionally push, pull, or lift up to 25 pounds.
CompensationHourly rate: $23.56 - $27.72
