On-Demand Details

You can work as much or as little as you like as an On-Demand Team Member (TM) and your schedule may vary depending on shift availability and store needs. This role is ideal for those seeking a personalized work schedule.

  • As an On-Demand TM, you will not be included on the posted weekly schedule, but you can create your own schedule by picking up shifts posted by leaders or other team members (via the myTime mobile scheduling app).
  • Reliable and prompt attendance is necessary when you choose to pick up a shift.
  • Active engagement: pick up and work shifts at least once every 4 weeks (minimum of four hours). Flexibility can be granted in certain circumstances, but you must respond to contact attempts to confirm interest in working shifts. If you do not respond, employment may be terminated. If you do not work at least one shift within 5 months, employment may be administratively terminated.
  • Your communication and ability to work when the business demands it are critical to success.
  • Upon offer, attend a Target Welcome orientation and commit to a short-term structured training schedule. After training, use the myTime app to pick shifts.
Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard.
  • Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests during daily tasks and when assistance is needed.
  • Be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services to solve guest issues and improve experience.
  • Thank guests and acknowledge their visit to Target.
  • Scan and bag items efficiently and in compliance with food safety standards and company best practices.
  • Minimize guest wait time while maintaining service and accuracy.
  • Inform guests about current and upcoming brand launches, store activities, and events.
  • Know and discuss benefits of Target Loyalty programs and assist with enrollment; be familiar with fulfillment services and direct guests to enroll, activate, and use them.
  • Demonstrate how to use Wallet and other features in the Target App.
  • Handle returns by following register prompts and partnering with leaders as needed.
  • De-escalate situations when necessary while following policies and procedures.
  • Provide easy and accurate service for Order Pick Up, Drive Up, and Registry guests.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and stock supplies during store hours.
  • Adhere to safety, ethics, and compliance policies; report hazards and correct where possible.
  • Support guest services such as OPU, Drive-Up Orders, and returns, and comply with applicable adult beverage laws where relevant.
  • Support cash office processes as needed, including cash systems management.
  • Perform any other duties based on business needs.
