*** This position is contingent upon contract award and will be located onsite in the southeast, southwest, or central United States. Travel may be required.***

Duties and Responsibilities:

Inspect, maintain, adjust, calibrate, and repair electronic, electromechanical, and hydraulic equipment, including patient monitors, defibrillators, medical imaging equipment (X-rays, CT scanners, ultrasound), voice-controlled operating tables, electric wheelchairs, and other sophisticated dental, optometric, ophthalmic equipment.

Perform routine scheduled maintenance to ensure all equipment functions properly.

Conduct safety checks and train practitioners to operate equipment safely.

Disassemble equipment to identify malfunctions or inaccuracies, repair or replace defective parts, reassemble, and adjust components.

Notify manufacturers or distributors of uncorrectable malfunctions for repair.

Keep detailed records of maintenance and repairs.

Manage inventories and record supplies and parts.

Work near patients without causing disturbance.

Document issues, work performed, and system or configuration changes.

Participate in meetings and task forces to improve quality, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and stay updated on new developments and policies.

Understand and practice the American Hospital Association's Bill of Rights for patients.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Biomedical Equipment Technician.
Diploma, certificate, or associate degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology or Engineering; military training (4A2X1, 68A, HM-8478) also accepted.
Experience with CT scanners and similar sophisticated equipment.
Ability to work independently and in a team, maintaining professionalism.
Proficiency with computers and MS Office.
Flexibility to adapt to changing work requirements and shifts.
Strong problem-solving skills.
US citizen or permanent resident residing in the US for at least 3 of the past 5 years.
Preferred:
Current adjudicated DHS clearance, bilingual in Spanish and English.

Conditions:

Work typically performed in an indoor/office environment.
Sitting and standing for prolonged periods.
