Overview

The Clinical Site Coordinator (ACCE, Academic Coordinator for Clinical Education), under the direction of the Program Director, is responsible for overseeing the clinical education for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) students. This role ensures compliance with programmatic accreditation and regulatory standards. It is responsible for identifying and securing clinical affiliations with healthcare facilities to provide appropriate clinical experiences for Diagnostic Medical Sonography students.

This position oversees student placements, manages site agreements, and maintains clear communication between students, program administrator(s), and industry partners.

Responsibilities
  • Assess potential clinical sites and negotiate/renew contracts to ensure alignment with program standards and student learning objectives.
  • Maintain documentation for compliance and generate reports for accreditation and institutional review.
  • Facilitate student onboarding by obtaining background checks, immunization documentation, and site-specific orientations; ensure all required documentation is completed before clinical placement.
  • Establish and maintain a structured tracking system to monitor student assignments and compliance with site policies.
  • Coordinate multiple site placements, resolve challenges, and expand placement opportunities by building relationships with healthcare partners.
  • Communicate effectively with students, program administrators, and industry partners; adapt to regulatory changes to support a seamless clinical placement process.
  • Note:

    This position is non-instructional.
