Overview
Triumph Group is seeking an AME2 responsible for the creation, development, and enhancement of manufacturing processes used in the production of aerospace hydraulic actuators and their components. The role involves interpreting design drawings and specifications, developing production planning, performing data analytics, and supporting manufacturing processes. The candidate should have solid engineering and manufacturing knowledge, strong attention to detail and organization, and an interest in machining concepts.
The role requires the ability to perform all functions with limited supervision.
- Support Manufacturing Operations
- Specify detailed planning of individual products and processes
- Provide support for manufacturing to correct, improve or initiate processes/tooling or methods in a timely manner
- Develop and recommend courses of action in manufacturing
- Prepare and review forms and procedures to promote efficiency of operation
- Develop design and install methods, processes, material handling and workstation equipment to facilitate handling of material and parts in manufacturing
- Prepare part programs and related information for CNC areas
- MRB support in rework instructions and corrective action to prevent recurrence
- Create engineering change actions
- Drive Manufacturing Improvements
- Work with operators to solve problems and make improvements
- Evaluate current machining operations and improve them to save time
- Develop cost studies, briefing recommendations and implement improvements in tools, equipment, process and materials
- Seek and implement new technology and techniques to achieve and maintain world-class performance
- Aid in preparing capital asset and expenditure budgets
- Investigate and analyze requests for additions or changes in equipment and facility requirements
- Support Estimating and New Product Introduction process
- Participate in Engineering design reviews on new products and design changes
- Evaluate and recommend new material and products for production use
- Develop estimates for time and resources to machine a part
- Create Manufacturing Plans
- Create Work Instructions
- Creating Machine Programs
Supervision received:
Complex work, under direction as to assignments. Responsible for results and costs.

Education and/or Experience
Minimum:
• Either:
o Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field plus 2 years of relatable experience.
Or
o An Associate degree in an engineering field with 5 years of related experience.
Or
o 5 years of Aerospace, Automotive, or equivalent Manufacturing Engineering experience.
• Demonstrates advanced knowledge of and experience with:
o Precision measuring tools, gauges, and other inspection devices
o Part drawings/blueprints, dimensioning, and tolerancing, including GD&T
o Strong experience with CAD and CAM Software (Solid Works, CATIAv5 and Mastercam). Must be able to create machine programs in G-Code
o Aerospace industry specifications
o Cross functional RCCA efforts
o Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and waste reduction concepts
o General knowledge of metallurgical properties including heat treating various types of metals
o Data analytics for monitoring and controlling Manufacturing processes
o Proficient in the use of all Microsoft Applications for recording and communicating efforts and statuses
o Team-based problem solving
o Aerospace experience a plus
Salary range: $75,200 - $92,000 plus bonus
