Bilingual Mechanical​/Manufacturing Engineer

Overview

In this role, you will support PPG's global packaging operations by providing technical support and optimization of plastic packaging solutions, collaborating with international subcontractors to troubleshoot and resolve production issues. This role is critical to ensuring high-quality, cost-effective packaging solutions, including injection molded components, meeting performance standards for a variety of global customers.

This role reports to the Business Director of Aerospace Packaging, and offers the flexibility of a hybrid schedule once you're fully trained.

• Create and manage technical documentation, including CAD models & drawings, specifications, and test reports
• Conduct functional & dimensional testing to verify plastic packaging components and equipment comply with design and performance specifications.
• Collaborate with subcontractors both domestically and internally to resolve manufacturing issues and improve production efficiency
• Support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for packaging defects or equipment failures
• Work cross-functionally with Quality, R&D, and Operations teams to develop new products or improve legacy product designs
• Support training on PPG's line of plastic packaging and operation of mixing & dispensing equipment

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering or related field (or experience in lieu of)
• 1+ year of experience in mechanical design, packaging engineering, or manufacturing processes
• Fluent in Spanish
• Mechanical aptitude - ability and experience using hand tools
• Familiarity with pneumatic logic design and equipment operation
• Proficiency in Solid Works
• Willingness to travel internationally up to 25% (primarily Mexico)
• Salary Range $75,000-$95,000
