Overview
Field Operations Engineer position based in Santa Clarita, CA. 2nd and 3rd shifts available. This role involves field engineering and operation of water treatment technology at a customer site. Responsibilities- Lead field engineering that supports oversights, operation and management of ECT2’s design and systems.
- Collaborate with a dynamic team of operators and field technicians traveling to client sites to support field engineering and operations.
- Prepare onsite team weekly and daily schedules for tasks aligned with the project plan.
- Commission and start up new systems, focusing on technical and project specifications.
- Schedule and coordinate with customers and on-site contractors to manage normal operations.
- Submit daily reports to the client and ECT2 Project team on site status and progress.
- Provide accurate and timely reporting of onsite conditions, treatment progress, and forecasted schedules.
- Ensure onsite safety compliance for the ECT2 team and subcontractors; develop safety literature, Job Hazard Analyses, Management of Change reviews, and Health and Safety plan amendments as applicable.
- Develop and manage on-site staffing schedules.
- Review and develop drawing packages, documents, and equipment for the project.
- Provide inspection, test, and system operation reports; participate in project team meetings with progress updates.
- Plan operational activities to support 24/7 site operations.
- Develop additional technologies and strategies on site to improve system operation.
- Foster relationships with onsite stakeholders, including vendors, client operations staff, and the ECT2 team.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering, or equivalent industry experience/certifications.
- 3–5 years of commissioning and start-up experience on large capital projects in environmental, construction, oil & gas, chemical, or power sectors (preferred).
- Familiarity with industrial piping systems, water treatment equipment, or distillation equipment (preferred).
- Proficient with spreadsheets, databases, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong time management, organizational, and technical communication skills.
- Ability to take ownership of high-level tasks and drive sub-tasks to completion with autonomy.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and adapt to changing priorities. Initial placement in Santa Clarita, CA with estimated travel 50–80% after project completion.
- Long periods of sitting and using office equipment; field work may involve climbing, ladder use, and working in varied environments.
- Field work may include ascending/descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and moving in confined spaces.
- Work in varied temperatures; ability to perform light to medium work (20–50 pounds).
- Competitive salary range: $90,000–$130,000, commensurate with experience and geography.
