Position Overview
Noncredit Instructor – Part‑time Adjunct
Campus:
Valencia, Canyon Country, or other location (Pitchess Detention Center, Century Regional Detention Facility).
Teaching assignment may be on campus or at a detainment facility.
Part‑time faculty positions do not accrue rights to tenure.
- Serve as noncredit instructor in Anger Management & Domestic Violence (Rising Scholars) courses.
- Teach Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. onsite at the assigned location.
- Create a dynamic learning environment that values instructor/student interaction.
- Engage students of diverse backgrounds and facilitate authentic learning.
- Adapt teaching pedagogy to the knowledge of each individual and class; self‑reflect and respond to an evidence‑based assessment of student learning.
- Integrate new technologies into the learning process, including interactive technologies for on‑campus and online courses.
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Assume leadership roles within the department and the institution; collaborate across disciplines and utilize student support resources.
- Participate in curriculum and program development.
- Work collegially and collaboratively within the college community.
- Participate in ongoing professional development.
Minimum Requirements
- Possession of an unexpired California Community College Instructor Credential in the appropriate discipline.
- OR Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, or sociology.
- OR Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught.
- OR Associate degree and six (6) years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught.
- OR Bachelor’s degree in health science, health education, biology, nursing, dietetics, or nutrition (or an associate degree in any of those subjects) and four (4) years of professional experience related to the subject of the course taught.
- Experience teaching content related to Anger Management and/or Domestic Violence.
- Current detailed resume summarizing education and experience.
- Complete college transcripts verifying educational degree(s). Unofficial transcripts may be submitted for application purposes; official transcripts must be submitted at the time of hiring.
- Letters of reference (optional).
- Teaching demonstration required at the interview.

Adjunct Noncredit Salary Schedule 8 – Starting at $54.95 per hour (link to Academic Noncredit Adjunct Salary Schedule).
