Exampleof Duties
College of the Canyons is seeking adjunct faculty members in Learning Disabilities Specialist (AAC - Academic Accommodations Center). Applications will be considered for immediate and future eligibility into the Learning Disabilities Specialist Noninstructional Applicant Pool. We are accepting applications on an on-going basis for future consideration into the Applicant Pool. When no review date is listed for an Adjunct Instructor position, the position is open until filled.

Minimum Requirements
Possession of an unexpired California Community College Credential in Learning Disabilities Specialist.
OR - Master’s degree in learning disabilities, special education, education, psychology, speech language pathology, communication disorders, educational or school psychology, counseling, or rehabilitation counseling.
AND fifteen (15) semester units of upper division or graduate study in the area of Learning Disabilities.
DESIREABLE QUALIFICATIONS- Two years of full-time experience or the equivalent in one or more of the following: (a) counseling or guidance for students with disabilities, or (b) counseling and/or guidance in industry, government, public agencies, military or private social welfare organizations in which the responsibilities of the position were predominantly or exclusively for persons with disabilities.
- Completion of the California Community College Learning Disabilities Eligibility & Services Model (LDESM) training OR verified graduate level coursework OR professional training on one or more of the following assessment instruments:
Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS IV paper or Q-interactive), Woodcock Johnson IV, Wechsler Individual Achievement Test (WIAT
4) and/or the Wide Range Achievement Test (WRAT-5). - Experience in conducting learning disability evaluations with adults in community college following the LDESM.
