Senior Cost Accountant

A global, innovation-driven organization is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to support a specialized advanced manufacturing business unit. This role is highly visible and plays a critical part in cost analysis, manufacturing performance, and financial decision support within a regulated, complex production environment.

• Analyze and report manufacturing variances including labor, overhead, absorption, material usage, scrap, and purchase price variance (PPV)
• Lead forecasting and budgeting efforts related to production volume, earned hours, overhead cost centers, and operational variances
• Prepare and analyze monthly inventory, inventory reserves, and warranty reserves
• Coordinate annual standard cost updates and cost roll-ups within the ERP system
• Partner with Supply Chain and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure accuracy of BOMs and routings for new product launches
• Prepare and manage transfer pricing activities across multiple legal entities
• Support internal and external operational audits and ensure compliance with IFRS and internal policies
• Execute month-end close activities including journal entries and account reconciliations
• Coordinate and analyze physical inventory counts and cycle counts, investigating and resolving discrepancies
• Act as a key business partner to Manufacturing and Supply Chain leadership, providing actionable cost insights

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 2+ years of hands-on cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory accounting, and manufacturing variance analysis
• Experience working cross-functionally with Production and Supply Chain teams
• Proficiency with SAP or a similar ERP system
• Strong analytical skills and a genuine interest in using cost data to drive profitability
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

• MBA, CMA, or CFA
• Fluency in German or Spanish
• Experience in regulated manufacturing environments (medical device, life sciences, pharma or similar)
