Position Description

The Accounting/Payroll Assistant provides essential support to the department by assisting with payroll processing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. This role assists in maintaining accurate financial records, ensures timely payment of invoices, supports billing and cash-receipt functions, and contributes to efficient payroll administration.

Duties & Responsibilities

AP/AR and General Accounting Support
  • Work with invoices. Generate, review, code, and enter into system.
  • Prepare payments via check and ACH
  • Coordinate with vendors
  • Assist with month-end reconciliations.
  • Apply incoming payments and maintain accurate customer account records.
  • Monitor and follow up on past-due accounts.
  • Assist with data entry, filing, and maintaining organized financial records.
  • Prepare routine financial reports as assigned
  • Perform other administrative or accounting duties as needed.
Payroll Support
  • Assist in preparing and processing payroll for all employees
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure all information is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Communicate with employees regarding payroll questions or discrepancies
Position Requirements

Skills & Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in an accounting role to include administering of payroll systems
  • Working knowledge of various payroll, accounting and record-keeping systems
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Intermediate level of Excel or higher (basic formulas, cell referencing, formatting, etc.)
  • Proven ability to collaborate across HR, Finance, and Operations to resolve issues
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Strong communication skills with a professional, customer-service-oriented approach.
  • Experience in a Payroll/Accounting position in the Construction industry helpful but not required
  • Associate's degree helpful but not required
