Job Summary Your CareerAs an Engineering Manager on the Prisma AIRS Red Teaming team, you will embrace a unique hybrid role that combines leadership with hands‑on technical contribution. You will guide and support a focused, multi‑disciplinary team of engineers and researchers while actively working alongside them as a backend engineer to build and ship core features. This position is ideal for a strong technical leader who is passionate about both mentoring people and solving complex engineering problems through code.
Your time will be balanced between managing your team's priorities, career growth, and performance, and making direct individual contributions to our codebase. You will lead by example, participating in design discussions, architecture reviews, and writing high‑quality code for key product initiatives. You will be responsible for the successful execution of your team's projects, ensuring they deliver impactful solutions while fostering a culture of collaboration and technical excellence.

This role is located at our dynamic Santa Clara California headquarters campus, and in office 3 days a week.
Your Impact- Lead and Mentor:
Manage a small team of engineers, conducting regular one‑on‑ones, providing feedback, and supporting their professional and technical growth. - Contribute Directly:
Actively work as a backend engineer on the team, taking ownership of complex features from design through implementation and deployment. - Drive Project Execution:
Plan and manage the team’s sprint goals and project timelines, ensuring the successful delivery of the product roadmap. - Uphold Technical Quality:
Lead code and architecture reviews, set high standards for engineering quality, and ensure the team is building scalable and maintainable solutions. - Collaborate and Align:
Work closely with product managers and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical tasks for the team.
Your Experience
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- 7+ years of professional software development experience, with expertise in backend development.
- 1+ years of experience in a leadership capacity, such as a Tech Lead or Engineering Manager.
- Strong hands‑on coding skills in Python or Golang and experience building scalable distributed systems.
- Experience with GCP (Google Cloud Platform) and relational databases (SQL).
- Proven ability to lead technical discussions and guide a team in making architectural decisions.
- Excellent communication skills and experience working in a collaborative, agile environment.
- A passion for both managing and mentoring engineers and being an active individual contributor.
