About the Team
The Omni Channel Engineering team builds the experiences that power world‑class customer service across the Service Now platform. Our applications enable seamless support across web, email, chat, phone, and emerging social channels—helping some of the world’s largest enterprises engage with their customers effortlessly.
We partner closely with platform and industry engineering teams to design intelligent, scalable, and secure solutions that developers love to build on. Our culture values reliability, ownership, strong engineering fundamentals, and continuous improvement through automation.
What You’ll Do
As a Software Engineer (IC2), you’ll be a full‑stack engineer with deep JavaScript expertise and strong backend fundamentals. You’ll help design and deliver features end‑to‑end, champion engineering excellence, and build tools that make developers more productive—both inside and outside our organization.
You will have a meaningful impact on the future of our Omni Channel product suite by:
- Designing, building, and maintaining clean, scalable, reusable UI and server‑side code.
- Helping shape architecture decisions and driving engineering best practices (code reviews, testing, CI/CD, performance).
- Translating business requirements into secure, intuitive, and extensible technical solutions.
- Developing simple, intelligent workflows that customers can configure and extend without friction.
- Contributing to new product initiatives while continuing to evolve our existing capabilities.
- Creating highly modular UI/UX components and patterns to accelerate internal and customer development.
- Applying AI‑driven techniques to improve workflows, efficiency, and user experience.
- Leveraging Windsurf and other automation tools to streamline development workflows, improve test coverage, and enhance developer experience.
- Championing automation‑first thinking to reduce manual overhead, improve reliability, and eliminate repetitive tasks across the engineering lifecycle.
To be successful in this role you have:
- 3+ years of professional experience in full‑stack development (JavaScript/Type Script, Node.js, or similar backend technologies).
- Strong expertise in at least one modern frontend framework (React, Angular, or Vue).
- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and scalable system design.
- Experience building secure, high‑performance web applications at scale.
- Ability to design component‑driven architectures and reusable frameworks.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; comfortable partnering across engineering, PM, and design.
- Demonstrated interest in AI—whether through workflow automation, intelligent tooling, or enhancing user experiences.
- Passion for clean code, intuitive UX, and building high‑quality products developers trust.
Preferred / Nice to Have:
- Experience developing on the Service Now platform

- Experience building enterprise SaaS applications.
- Familiarity with Windsurf or similar developer‑productivity tools.
- Background in building test automation, linting frameworks, or CI/CD pipelines.
