Assistant Cafe Manager – Bon Appétit Management Company

Location:

Sunnyvale, CA |

Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 6:30 am to 4:30 pm | Pay: $76,240 - $78,000 per year.

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic Assistant Cafe Manager to join our Bon Appétit team. The Assistant Cafe Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring operational excellence, delivering world‑class service, and upholding our standards of food quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain workplace and food safety standards, including allergen management and compliance with local health regulations.
  • Lead the development, performance management, and training of front‑of‑house staff.
  • Monitor financial and budgetary responsibilities, ensuring fiscal efficiency.
  • Ensure administrative compliance: payroll, service reports, accounts receivable, HR documentation.
  • Operate web‑based ordering systems and manage menu updates.
  • Collaborate with the Cafe Manager and client stakeholders to meet café objectives.
  • Establish and maintain a warm, inclusive hospitality environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in high‑volume, premium food service or hospitality.
  • Experience in a restaurant, café, hotel, or high‑end events setting.
  • Demonstrated commitment to food and workplace safety.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; inclusive team building.
  • Proficiency with Google Suite and basic technical skills.
  • Serv Safe Certification preferred; union‑environment experience a plus.
