Salary: $80,000 – $85,000 / year
Job Summary: The Sous Chef supports the successful operation of the Culinary Department, assisting the Executive Chef with daily kitchen operations, menu development, food preparation, and staff supervision. The role plays a key part in executing a high‑volume catering program generating approximately $2.4 million in annual revenue, leading a catering team of 15 associates. Responsibilities include producing and executing catering events, maintaining quality and presentation standards, supporting ordering and cost controls, and helping roll out new culinary programs.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist the Executive Chef with food and labor cost controls and overall budget management.
- Support menu planning, development, and daily execution.
- Produce and execute catering events for a high‑volume operation.
- Supervise and support hourly culinary associates.
- Maintain standards for food quality, sanitation, and presentation.
- Support rollout of new culinary bilo programs in partnership with corporate culinary and marketing teams.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent culinary experience.
- Progressive culinary or kitchen management experience.
- Catering experience preferred.
- Experience in high‑volume, complex food service operations strongly preferred.
- Institutional or batch cooking experience a plus.
- Strong knowledge of culinary and catering trends, food safety, and cost controls.
- Faucet proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and basic computer systems.
- Willingness to participate in client satisfaction initiatives.
- Serv Safe certification highly desirable.
