Position Summary

Comtech Telecommunications Corp. is actively seeking a highly motivated Manager, Manufacturing Process to collaborate closely with the Manufacturing management team. The primary objective of this role is to ensure our site consistently meets or surpasses our expanding growth targets by supporting the effective execution of the Master Production Schedule (MPS) to fulfill customer volume commitments. This person will play a key role in driving process improvements, supporting cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring adherence to production and quality standards.

This position contributes to the success of the operations team through data-driven problem solving, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role partners closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to enhance operational efficiency and achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the manufacturing of quality products through adherence to departmental standards, procedures, and continuous improvement efforts in quality, safety, and efficiency.
  • Analyze production workflows to identify areas for efficiency improvement and cost reduction.
  • Apply continuous improvement (PPI/Lean) tools to determine root causes of issues (RCCM), implement corrective and preventative actions (CAPA), and support Quality in addressing customer complaints and yield improvements (CFPY).
  • Serve as a technical resource for troubleshooting process, data analysis, and documentation updates.
  • Partners with internal teams to improve test yield, manufacturing yield, scrap reduction, and cycle time.
  • Support the implementation and execution of operational and business strategies to meet growth objectives.
  • Assist in developing and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) for operations cost, schedule, and performance.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain and Materials teams to ensure materials availability and smooth production flow.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to develop and implement process improvement initiatives that enhance productivity and cost-effectiveness.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate daily production data and reports.
  • Contribute to a safe, efficient, and quality-focused work environment by following established protocols and recommending improvements.
  • Serve as a positive influence and informal mentor by modeling best practices and supporting peer development initiatives.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, operations flow, and production scheduling.
  • Experience in applying Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with proficiency in data-driven decision-making.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across functions and present findings clearly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project) and ERP systems (e.g., CostPoint).
  • Knowledge of AS9145 and quality systems principles preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Education & Experience
  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in appropriate discipline and 6 years of relevant experience, OR
    • Advanced degree in a related field and 4 years of experience.
    • STEM degree preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or operations.
    • Experience supporting production planning, process improvement, or quality initiatives.
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to obtain Secret Level Security Clearance.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
