About the Role

As a FM Engineering Operations Manager, you will lead a team that provides technical and operational support to account staff. The role is part of the Engineering and Technical Services family and focuses on preventive maintenance, repairs, and system management of equipment and facilities.

What You'll Do
  • Provide formal supervision to employees.
  • Monitor training and development of staff.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and coaching.
  • Oversee recruiting and hiring of new employees.
  • Communicate with team members and provide regular updates to the Engineering Ops Director.
  • Coordinate and manage the team’s daily activities.
  • Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross‑train staff.
  • Set and track staff and department deadlines.
  • Mentor and coach as needed.
  • Assist the team with operations and maintenance issues.
  • Direct contractors, subcontractors, engineers, and technicians on all maintenance aspects.
  • Supervise daily operations of facility controls and asset management systems.
  • Maintain relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Provide technical expertise on client projects.
  • Manage the profits and losses of the department or a specific division.
  • Develop goals and initiatives to direct the department’s course.
  • Guide managers in implementing company initiatives and policies.
  • Evaluate company processes and procedures to solve issues.
  • Ensure business operations follow established procedures.
  • Keep track of regulatory records and paperwork.
  • Support preparation of annual operating budgets.
  • Evaluate, forecast, and manage operations and maintenance costs.
  • Support operational analysis of all engineering‑related performance metrics (KPIs).
  • Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values.
  • Influence parties of shared interests to reach an agreement.
  • Apply knowledge of own discipline and integration with others to achieve team and departmental objectives.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day‑to‑day and moderately complex issues that may not be obvious in existing systems and processes.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervise engineers and maintenance staff, including hiring, training, personnel development, and program implementation. Plan, coordinate, and oversee mechanical operations, maintenance, communications, energy management, and personnel development programs for assigned properties.

What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 3–5 years of relevant experience; otherwise a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Membership in an engineering‑related professional body (e.g., CIBSE/IEE) preferred.
  • Knowledge of mechanical processes, BMS, automations/controls, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Experience in staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention.
  • Strong communication skills for handling sensitive, complex information and performance expectations.
  • Leadership skills to motivate team impact on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Ability to navigate CMMS (work orders management) systems, Si7, Coupa, and similar tools.
  • In‑depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Extensive organizational skills and an inquisitive mindset.
  • Advanced math skills, including ability to calculate percentages, fractions, and other financial calculations.
  • Applicant must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
