Talent Manager, Employee Relations, HR Manager, Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Overview
We have a client that is a mission-driven nonprofit organization with approximately 200 employees dedicated to making a meaningful impact in the communities they serve.
During a period of transition, they are seeking an experienced Interim Director of Human Resources to provide strategic and hands-on HR leadership across a wide variety of initiatives.
This is a high-impact role for a seasoned HR leader who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys partnering closely with executives and managers to strengthen people practices, culture, and compliance.
Position would manage 2 direct reports but also be in charge of some transactional HR work.
Ideal candidate is ONLY seeking contract work to support specific projects within the organization.
Compensation & Location- Pay is up to $75/hr
- 5-days onsite in their Santa Clara, CA office
- Reports to the CEO
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Partner directly with hiring managers and executive leadership
- Lead the full-cycle recruiting and onboarding process with a hands-on approach
Employee Relations
- Serve as a trusted HR business partner to managers and executives
- Support employee morale and proactively manage employee relations matters
Performance Management
- Drive and oversee performance review processes
- Ensure timely, fair, and consistent evaluations and meaningful feedback
HR Compliance & Risk Management
- Maintain and update the employee handbook
- Assess and address U.S. and global HR compliance risks proactively
- Resolve non-compliance matters efficiently to protect the organization’s reputation
Stakeholder Partnership
- Build and maintain strong relationships with executives and cross-functional teams
- Engage stakeholders year-round to ensure effective communication and collaboration
- Manage, mentor, and coach HR team members
- Support professional development and help team members reach their full potential
- 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience
- Strong expertise across recruiting, employee relations, compensation, and benefits
- Solid knowledge of U.S. HR regulatory requirements
- Exposure to California HR practices preferred but not required
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment with employees at all levels
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field required
- SPHR and/or PHR certification preferred but not required
