A leading technology organization is seeking a Global Events Finance & Operations Analyst to support the financial and operational management of its global events portfolio. This role will act as the financial backbone for global marketing and events initiatives, ensuring strong financial governance, operational efficiency, and accurate budget management across multiple cost centers. The position partners closely with Marketing Operations, Finance, Procurement, and event leadership teams to oversee budgeting, procurement workflows, financial reporting, and system administration related to event planning and execution.
Success in this role requires strong financial acumen, attention to detail, systems expertise, and the ability to collaborate across global teams in a fast-paced environment.
This role will act as the financial backbone for global marketing and events initiatives, ensuring strong financial governance, operational efficiency, and accurate budget management across multiple cost centers.
Responsibilities Global Budget & Cost Center Management- Develop, monitor, and manage multiple global cost center budgets aligned with annual operating plans.
- Partner with department leaders to establish budget targets and ensure adherence to financial plans.
- Maintain and update marketing budget management systems (e.g., Allocadia or similar platforms), including adjustments for foreign exchange and applicable taxes.
- Conduct recurring budget reviews and recommend resource allocation improvements.
- Provide financial visibility and governance across global events initiatives.
- Serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for the organization’s marketing budget management platform.
- Maintain accurate, real-time budget data and ensure forecasting integrity.
- Collaborate with Finance and Marketing Operations teams to align budget tracking with marketing performance and pipeline metrics.
- Manage the end-to-end Purchase Request (PR) and Purchase Order (PO) process, including creation, coding, approvals, and processing.
- Partner with Procurement to ensure vendor contracts tied to PRs and POs move efficiently through internal systems.
- Monitor invoice processing and resolve issues to prevent payment delays.
- Utilize financial systems and integrations (e.g., ERP platforms and procurement management tools) for PR tracking, vendor documentation, and reporting.
- Collaborate with Finance and IT teams to address system issues and implement improvements.
- Ensure financial data accuracy and consistency across budgeting and ERP platforms.
- Analyze budget variances and provide insights to leadership teams.
- Prepare financial forecasts, executive reports, and event-level budget summaries.
- Identify potential risks, overspending areas, and optimization opportunities.
- Work closely with Global Events and Marketing teams, Marketing Operations, Finance Business Partners, and Procurement.
- Provide financial guidance to ensure operational decisions align with corporate financial objectives and governance standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency across budgeting and procurement processes.
- Implement best practices to strengthen financial controls and system transparency.
- Drive automation and continuous improvement across financial workflows and reporting processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
- 3–4+ years of experience in FP&A, financial operations, or budget management.
- Strong proficiency with marketing budget management platforms such as Allocadia or similar tools.
- ERP systems (e.g., Net Suite or comparable platforms).
- Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel (advanced level).
- Experience supporting marketing, events, or global operations teams is strongly preferred.
