We are seeking a Field Sales Engineer Intern to join our team in Santa Clara, CA. This internship provides a unique opportunity for students to gain hands‑on exposure to the intersection of engineering, sales, product marketing, and customer engagement within the high‑speed interconnect industry.

Position Summary

As a Field Sales Engineer Intern
, you will support the Sales and Field Applications Engineering teams in driving customer engagement, learning the technical and commercial aspects of Amphenol products, and assisting with activities that support new design opportunities.

This internship offers valuable insight into how engineering and sales collaborate to solve complex challenges related to high‑bandwidth signal transmission and customer design requirements. Interns will gain exposure to customer interactions, market analysis, technical product positioning, and sales strategy development
.

The market segment focus for this role will include Automotive and Electric Vehicle (EV) technologies
, supporting customers developing next‑generation mobility, electrification platforms, and high‑performance computing architectures used in modern vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Sales and Field Applications Engineering teams with customer engagement activities.
  • Support the promotion of Amphenol products to existing customers and potential prospects.
  • Help research and identify opportunities for Amphenol interconnect solutions within Networking, IT, and Datacom applications.
  • Participate in internal meetings with Product Development, Product Marketing, and Sales teams to understand new product strategies.
  • Assist with preparation of technical and sales materials, presentations, and product documentation.
  • Support tracking customer inquiries, sample requests, and product information.
  • Conduct market and competitor research to help identify trends and opportunities within the territory.
  • Assist in analyzing customer requirements and identifying potential product applications.

    Support the coordination of customer visits, virtual meetings, and follow‑up communications.
  • Gain exposure to the sales process including design‑in opportunities and channel management.
  • Participate in training sessions to develop knowledge of Amphenol products and industry applications.
  • Provide general support for the Sales and Engineering teams as needed.
Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related technical discipline
    .
  • Junior or Senior standing preferred.
  • Interest in technical sales, product marketing, or field applications engineering
    .
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Eagerness to learn about high‑speed interconnect technologies and customer applications.
