The OpportunityWe are seeking a passionate engineer to join our team for a 3-6 month Internship. In this role you will contribute to the design, development, prototyping, and validation of industrial equipment that deploy cutting‑edge laser technology in high‑precision manufacturing environments. Your responsibilities may include:
- Providing support to design, prototyping, documentation and validation activities for Production and R&D Assemblies.
- Conceive, design, and bring into production tooling, fixturing and sensing technology.
- Work closely and collaboratively with many different multi‑functional teams.
- Assist with documenting 3D CAD and 2D drawings using GD&T and tolerance analysis
- Assist in developing test plans and executing experiments to validate mechanical designs.
- Learn and apply engineering best practices in a fast‑paced product development environment.
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Strong fundamentals in mechanical engineering principles (mechanisms, materials, tolerance analysis, stress/strain basics).
- Proficiency or coursework in 3D CAD modeling (e.g., Solid Works, CATIA, NX) and understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience with hands‑on prototyping, testing, and basic data analysis.
- Design experience, either professionally or school associated club (e.g. Formula SAE, Formula Electric, SWE Team Tech)
- Experience or coursework with machine tools, production/assembly techniques, or manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with design for manufacturability (DFM), tolerance stack-ups, and prototype iteration workflows.
- Hands‑on experience with test equipment, measurement tools, or lab hardware.
- Internship or project experience in a semi‑conductor or new technology product development environment.
- Proficiency to work on multiple requests/tests at the same time
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
Salary Range : 20 - 30 USD per hour.
